What to Expect at Your First Appointment at Sara Carden Hair

Walking into a new salon for the first time can be nerve-wracking. I get it. You have probably had at least one experience where a stylist did not listen, rushed through your appointment, or gave you something completely different from what you asked for. That is not how things work here.

Before You Arrive

When you book online through my scheduling page, you will select the service that best matches what you are looking for. If you are unsure, that is completely fine. Just book a consultation and we will figure it out together.

I always recommend bringing reference photos. Not because I am going to copy them exactly, but because they help me understand the direction you are drawn to. Screenshots from Instagram, Pinterest boards, even old photos of your own hair from a time you loved it. All of that is useful.

The Consultation

Every first appointment starts with a conversation. I want to know your hair history: what you have done to it, what has worked, what has not. I want to understand your lifestyle. Are you someone who spends 30 minutes styling every morning, or do you need something that air-dries and still looks polished? That changes everything.

I will also assess your hair's current condition. Elasticity, porosity, texture. This tells me what your hair can handle and helps me build a plan that protects its health while getting you the result you want.

The Studio Experience

My studio is inside Marquise Salon Suites at 7010 W Highway 71, Suite 122, Austin, TX 78735. It is a private suite, which means it is just you and me for the entire appointment. No noise, no crowds, no waiting. Clients from Bee Cave and Lakeway tell me the drive is worth it just for the calm, focused atmosphere.

After Your Appointment

Before you leave, I walk you through everything: how to maintain your color, what products to use, when to book your next visit. I want you to feel confident about taking care of your hair at home, not confused or overwhelmed. And if you ever have questions between appointments, I am always reachable.
